The answers: Who cares and you shouldn’t.
Charlie Kraebel’s origins began many years ago in the booming metropolis of Buffalo, N.Y., famous for its chicken wings, sports heartbreaks and hosting the assassination of President William McKinley.
After stints in Riverdale, Md., and Oneonta, N.Y., (dubbed “The Lost Weekend, Part II”), Charlie got his start in journalism in 1995 as a rural reporter for The Leader-Herald of Gloversville, N.Y., a small community newspaper you’ve never heard of in a town you’ve never heard of … before now.
As irony would have it, Charlie’s first editing job came in 2000 at, you guessed it, The Leader-Herald. From there, Charlie went on to become and editor at another small community newspaper you’ve never heard of in a town you’ve never heard of, The Leader in Corning, N.Y. He was convinced his next newspaper would be simply called “The.”
But that was not to be. By chance, Charlie saw an ad for a city editor’s postion at a small community newspaper he’d never heard of in a town he’d never heard of, The Free Press of Kinston, N.C. Deciding to take a chance, Charlie loaded up the truck and moved to Kinston-ly in 2006.
Charlie is married to Laura, a hot blonde who teaches music at La Grange Elementary School. He also has three children, Charlie, a lad destined to either create something that saves the world or destroys it, Genevieve, who is destined to be the next Mia Hamm, and Meghan, who is destined to become whoever the heck she wants and will do so by any means necessary.
