Now that Atlanta Falcons’ QB Michael Vick has agreed to plea guilty for his involvement with running a dog-fighting operation at his home in Virginia, I feel a little more free to express my outrage over this whole incident.
They ought to hang the bastard. Better yet, lock the SOB up in a cell with a couple of hungry pit bulls and let them tear him limb from limb.
There’s no way anyone can make any excuse for this type of activity. It’s sickening to picture two dogs ripping into each other, with the winner being the animal left standing. It makes me want to puke even more that people actually get off on watching this and even try and make money from it.
It makes me wonder who the real animals are.
What gets me the most is that Vick already makes millions and was considered to be a major star in the National Football League. Young people looked up to him. Hell, he was the only thing that made the Atlanta Falcons worth watching anyway.
But I won’t dismiss this as a case of someone making a bad decision, such as driving drunk or messing around with strippers, which has been enough to warrant suspensions for other NFL players.
This is a case of someone who lusts for bloodshed, and it doesn’t matter to me if it involves a dog or a person. Anyone who gets off on this is seriously deranged.
It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Vick’s NFL playing days are over. Good. That league doesn’t need someone like him.
And frankly, neither does society in general.
